# Assigning Messages to Products

### How to Assign a Message

1. Go to **Products** in your WordPress admin
2. Click **Edit** on the product you want to add a message to
3. Scroll down to find the **Smart Product Emails** tab
4. Locate the **SPE Message** field
5. **Type** in the field to search for your SPE Message
6. **Click** the title of the SPE Message to assign it
7. Click **Update** to save

### Variable Products

For variable products (products with variations):

- The SPE Message is assigned at the **product level**, not variation level
- The same message appears regardless of which variation is ordered
